    I am 52 years old and all my life I have loved eating sweets, last year I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. Caused by the inability of my pancreas to deal with the huge amounts of refined sugar I gave it to deal with. So the result of my awful slobbish diet was Diabetes. So the answer to your question is YES. Cut down on your sugar intake, watch what you eat. I wish I had.

    Yes, my late grandmother got Adult Onset Diabetes from a diet that consisted mostly of sweets. Be careful!

    yes, you definately have a higher risk of getting it. Too much sweets can be really bad for you, you should talk to the doctor about your health, maybe have a test to check your sugar level.

    Diabetes usually runs in family’s. You can also have diabetes if your overweight for a substantial amount of time or your obese. If any of these factors concern you, then you might want to watch how much you eat of those sweets.

    NO it can cause type 2 but not type1 inheritance is defiantly a factor in both. look back in your family and see if its there your chances are better at getting it if you have family members who have had it.

    For sure because after a while, the body can’t make insulin at it’s normal rate because every sweet has carbs in it that need doses of insulin for. That’s why Diabetics are always on a insulin pump or giving injections. Your pancreas (makes the insulin) and will just stop and then yes, you will be diabetic. Just watch what you eat.

    Type 1 – no

    Type 2 – maybe. There are studies which indicate that people who eat a lot of high glycemic foods (sugar is one) develop type 2 diabetes as a result of the constant assault on their pancreas.

    You’d be wise to buffer your sugar with protein or eat smaller amounts several hours apart.

    The biggest problem for diabetic’s are carbohydrates, like briead , potatoes, pasta, etc.. which are converted into sugar, a lot of sweets are a no no if you are diabetic, knowing the right food combinations helps, there is a lot of on line info on diets for people who are diabetic. and a lot of books on the subject.A lot of sweets arent good for anyone, not just diabetics, how about the effect on your teeth? and your weight? and getting the proper nutrients from proper food are very important, sweets once in awhile are okay!
