Diabetes is a disease that affects the body’s ability to produce or respond to insulin, a hormone that allows blood glucose (blood sugar) to enter the cells of the body and be used for energy. Diabetes is classified into two types
Type 1 is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin.
Type 2 is the most common form of diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin.
Diabetes leads to a number of problems, including diabetic retinopathy — which is one of the leading causes of adult blindness. It is a disorder of the blood vessels in the retina of patients with diabetes mellitus.
Your risk of diabetic retinopathy increases with the duration of diabetes. About 60% of patients with diabetes for 15 years or more will have damage to the blood vessels in the eyes when the sugar levels in the blood gets too high.
See your eye doctor for a yearly dilated eye exam – even if your vision seems fine - because it is important to detect diabetic retinopathy in the early stages
You must control your blood sugar level to reduce the risk of diabetic retinopathy. Blood sugar levels must be closely monitored through frequent blood glucose checking.
People with diabetes monitor blood glucose levels several times a year with a laboratory test called the HbA1C (Haemoglobin A1c). Results of the HbA1C test reflect average blood sugar over a 2- to 3-month period. The HbA1c is the best single measurement available to clinicians to assess your overall diabetes control and the risk of complications of diabetes.
In general an Hba1c of 6.5% represents ‘good’ control, a level of 7% ‘satisfactory’ or ‘fair’ and a level greater than 7.5% is indicative of poor control.
4 KEYS AND MOST IMPORTANT WAYS TO CONTROL BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL
1) Healthy diet
2) Regular exercise
3) Regular checking of blood sugar level
4) Maintain healthy body weight
In short, keeping blood sugar level under tight control is one of the best way to decrease the incidence and/or severity of vision problems due to diabetes.
BLINDNESS CAN BE PREVENTED, Start action now as the RISK OF BLINDNESS INCREASES WITH DURATION OF DIABETES.

Home Remedies for Diabetes, Diabetes Information
Diabetes is a disease that develops, due to a problem with the hormone insulin, produced by the pancreas. Insulin, controls the glucose in the blood, and how much glucose is absorbed by the cells; which in turn use glucose to produce energy. When insulin is not present, or the body is not using it properly, glucose can’t enter the cells, and stays in the bloodstream producing hyperglycemia, or excess of sugar (glucose) in the blood.

The Best Way to Prevent Diabetes!
Diabetes can be prevented or, in some cases, delay the start of diabetes by taking charge before it advances from what is known as the pre-diabetic stage to being a full-blown illness. Pre-diabetes refers to the stage where you have higher-than-normal blood glucose, but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. Pre-diabetes can lead to type 2 diabetes if nothing is done to overturn the condition. A recent study called the Diabetes Prevention Program indicates that persons with pre-diabetes can stop type 2 diabetes from beginning, by increasing their physical activity and changing their eating habits.
Changing eating habits and beginning an exercise program has been proven to be an effective method of preventing the growth of pre-diabetes. Pre-diabetes can be reversed that is, sugar levels can be returned to normal with medication, diet, and exercise, meaning you can do something to ward off imminent, full-blown diabetes. What exactly is pre-diabetes? It is the sign to developing type 2 diabetes and refers to higher than usual glucose in the blood.
It is important to know that pre-diabetes can lead to type 2 diabetes, if left untreated. Fortunately, a recent study has shown that moderate exercise and a change to healthier ways of eating can help prevent pre-diabetes and possibly diabetes itself. Age also plays a role, as the older you are, the more likely you are to develop pre-diabetes
People whose ethic background includes African, Native American, Latino, and Asian are particularly prone to developing diabetes. If you belong to one of these groups and are older than forty-five, it would be a good idea to get tested for pre-diabetes or diabetes.
Doctors can tell if you are pre-diabetic by performing two standard tests, the results of these tests will verify whether you have pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or if you are diabetes-free.
The test is normally done in the morning, and the patient is advised not to consume anything after 10 PM the previous night, you will then have the glucose tolerance test to measure your blood glucose level after an overnight fast, your blood glucose levels are then checked two hours later, if the range is between 140 and 199 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter), you will be considered pre-diabetic. These levels are also a sign that you may develop type 2 diabetes soon after.
If your test is positively as having pre-diabetes, it is essential to take annual tests so that you catch developed diabetes in its early stages. Early diagnosis is truly the easiest way to get the disease under control before too much harm has been done to vital organs.
Exercise can return blood sugar levels to normal ranges. Preventing or delaying the onset of diabetes is your responsibility; make the lifestyle changes needed to improve your health today.
Thirty minutes of reasonable activity joined with weight loss is recommended by the American Diabetes Association as the best way of minimizing the risk of becoming pre-diabetic. Even if you are not in the grouping of people that are more subject to pre-diabetes or diabetes itself, appropriate health care and physical activity are very important regardless.
Controlling your health is dependent on the changes you make in your daily way of life. While avoiding serious illness is one motivation to having a physical lifestyle, in general good health and long-lasting mobility are two other good incentives.

Information on How to Prevent Diabetes
Pre-diabetes is a serious health condition that can be treated. The good news is that diabetes has recently completed Prevention Program study conclusively showed that people with pre-diabetes can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes by making changes to their diet and increase their level of ‘physical activity. May they be able to return their blood glucose levels to normal.
It is better to practice the Prevention of Diabetes. Here’s a start. There are two natural remedies that you can use to reduce your chances of becoming diabetic. One is a mineral and the other is a spice.
First make sure you always get magnesium in your food or as a supplement. In a study by Brigham, 11000 women were tested for risk factors discussed above has shown that women who had high levels of magnesium are less diabetic risk factors of 27%. Other long-term studies have also shown similar results.
Thus, you might ask why do magnesium lower diabetes risk factors? Researchers have suggested that magnesium reduces blood pressure, heart relaxes the muscles, homocysteine and control, which is associated with cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Since magnesium is a mineral It also helps to neutralize the toxic substances found in cells outside the lymph. This helps cells to function better.
For more magnesium in your diet to eat dark green leafy lettuce, avocados, nuts, grains and ensembles. In addition, the use of magnesium gluconate and magnesium chelated 500 mg per day. It is always better to take magnesium with calcium and vitamin D.
Secondly, it is the spice cinnamon. The cinnamon and diabetes has been discussed in many health bulletins. Here is the story about diabetes cinnamon. It is an extract of cinnamon called Cinnulin PF. This extract works on the cellular level by insulin receptors on cells more sensitive to insulin than 300%. So why is it important? Well, in diabetes, if the pancreas does not produce enough insulin but not enough insulin cell doors are open to ensure a good sugar can go into cells to lower blood sugar levels.
There are drugs that can be used to control diabetes, and many natural remedies. However, the most important aspect of a management plan is a Diabetic Diet and exercise. A healthy diet should consist of fresh fruit, vegetables, carbohydrates parties healthy, omega-3 fatty acids, proteins in healthy portions, and fibre. A healthy diet contributes not only to your overall health, but can also be an important factor to offset the Symptoms of Diabetes. The more you can prevent symptoms of diabetes, the more you can reduce the risk of more serious diseases associated with diabetes.
What can I do to prevent diabetes?
You can do many things to prevent diabetes problems. For example, to keep your feet healthy, check them each day. Ask your health care team if you take a low-dose aspirin daily to reduce your risk of heart disease. To keep your eyes healthy, visit a professional eye once a year for a complete eye exam that includes the use of drops in the eye to dilate the pupils.

Prevent and cure diabetes by homoeopathy
Diabetes is the silent killer disease of next generation. It is spreading like an epidemic. It feels like a way of living to remain a diabetec. The most unfortunate thing is the patient takes it granted that once the diabetes is diagnosed then life long he/she has to remain under medication without knowing that whether the medicine is helping them to recover or not. Let us discuss some issues on diabetes on World diabetes day 14th November (the birth day of Dr Fredereck and Dr Charles; who discovered insulin in 1921). It is estimated that by 2025 India will be the number 1 country to have highest number of diabetics.
Why diabetic population is on rapid increase?
Diabetes is the increased level of sugar in the body. Insulin is the hormone responsible for digesting that sugar and maintaining the normal blood sugar level in the body. Insulin is produced in an organ of our body called pancreas. When the pancreas fail to produce insulin then the sugar level in the blood rises and gives rise to diabetes. In modern medicine system the insulin is injected into the body to fulfil its deficiency. But it is just like the cutting of branches of a tree and leaving the root as usual. Rather we should enquire that what made the pancreas fail to produce insulin. Now days why in 1 out of 10 persons the pancreas fails to do so?
Ans- Pancreas automatically can not produce insulin. It is stimulated by the brain to do so. Like insulin many other hormones are synthesised in our body by the concerned organs when they are stimulated by the brain. This function of brain includes release of various stress hormones also in the body. It is seen that those who have increased level of stress hormones; are found to have decreased levels of insulin. Hence we can say that diabetes is directly proportional to stress response.
I have used the word ‘stress response’ in stead of stress exposure. Because sometimes the amount of stress to which one person is exposed used to be less but he/she responds vigorously. Here the less amount of stress also brings vigorous disaster. That is why the Type A personalities (angry, aggressive, violent) and Type C personalities (sad, depressed, morosed, with suppressed emotion) are more prone to develop diabetes. Now the modern walk of life usually puts a person in these two categories of personalities. Now every body used to have a higher ambition, stronger will power, and more self centric and less tolerant to contradiction. These traits get multiplied in every successive generation. That is why more and more people are prone to develop diabetes now. In one sentence ewe can say that an individual who is hyper-responsive to stress becomes resistant to insulin.
Is there any solution to this devastating disease?
To tell you honestly insulin is only the supplementary to deficiency but not a solution. Solution lies in the correction of the cause. In homeopathy we have 2 kinds of solution to diabetes.1.Prevention and 2. Cure
Prevention- If both the parents are diabetic then the individual is 99% prone to develop it. If one of the parents is diabetic then 50% chance of developing the same remains in next generation. Homeopathy can prevent the diabetes by giving constitutional treatment. This corrects the above mentioned personality disorders as well as the genetic tendency to develop diabetes.
Even various complications of diabetes; like diabetes foot, diabetes cataract etc. are successfully prevented if a person takes homeopathy for diabetes.
Cure-For cure also homeopathy adopts constitutional treatment. In my last 8 years of practice experience I’ve noticed that even the IDDM (Insulin Dependant Diabetes Mellitus) cases have started reducing the insulin doses from the second month of treatment itself. Also the patient here need not take medicine life long. Gradually medicine doses are reduced and finally stopped.

How To Prevent Diabetes
It is important to be knowledgeable about the disease process in order to understand how to prevent diabetes.
Diabetes is a disorder that affects the way food is digested and used for energy. Food is broken down into a form of sugar, called glucose. Glucose is then used by cells for growth and energy. However, insulin must be present in order for the glucose to reach the cells.
Individuals with diabetes are unable to utilize the glucose because of decreased or absent insulin production by the pancreas, and insulin resistance. Insulin resistance means that the cells do not properly use insulin. Due to the glucose not being utilized by the cells, it builds up in the blood stream.
Diabetes is diagnosed in one of three ways: Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, Type 2, or adult onset diabetes, and Gestational diabetes.
Type 1 most often affects people below the age of 40, but can occur at anytime. It is considered an auto-immune disease. This means the immune system is attacking the cells in the pancreas that are responsible for insulin production. The cause is not fully understood and, therefore, it is not preventable.
Gestational diabetes, also called carbohydrate intolerance, is diagnosed at some point during pregnancy. It usually resolves after birth, but the mother is at an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes later in her life.
Type 2 is the most common, and usually affects people over the age of 45. It is characterized by insulin deficiency and insulin resistance. It is the only form that can be preventable.
Prevention starts with awareness of the risk factors which include: a family history of diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, excess body weight, and if you are over 45 years of age.
Some ways you can reduce your risk of developing this condition are eating healthy, exercise, and weight loss if you are overweight.
Healthy eating consists of eating low fat and low calorie foods. Avoid having a lot of animal products in your diet, and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Incorporate at least thirty minutes of moderate physical activity into your daily routine.
If you are overweight, work on shedding those excess pounds.
Healthy lifestyle choices and awareness are essential in how to prevent diabetes.
